Tuesday, September 15, the 49er’s men’s soccer team tied with rival college, Shasta, 2-2 at Shasta College. In the first half of the game, Shasta was in the lead 1-0, but that did not discourage the mighty 49ers. Soon after the second half started, Mike Ryman scored a goal with an assist from Tim Danna. Danna then scored a goal with an assist from Bryan Nelson. Now, in a 2-1 lead, the outlook for the Yuba men was looking good. However, with twenty minutes left of the game, Shasta scored another goal. Tied 2-2, Shasta tried desperately to break the tie, but was unsuccessful due to the great defense of the 49ers. According to head coach Jason Spain, defenders Phillip Plant, Oscar Quezada, and Kahili Hernandez played well in the back.
