A star on the rise is Laura Dunham. Taking on a course overload of 19 units this semester, Laura is a freshman of ours who is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Theater. She managed to take on the role of Viola in Mr. Wander’s 70s twist of “The Twelfth Night.” This will be her first time acting for Yuba College. She has had some previous acting experiences. Still, she is hoping to leave a good impression on our audiences here at Yuba.

Shakespeare fan or not, I’m positive this young lady’s acting will take you by surprise. While she will be dressed in clothing that will give some of our older audience member a flashback in time, her role will not change and Shakespeare’s tale will remain the same. It is still the story where Viola disguises as a boy and becomes a part of a love triangle between Shakespeare’s Countess Olivia, performed by Alissya Celis and the Duke Orsino, Alex Yamada.

Some of us may be familiar with Shakespeare’s scripts, while others may be reading or viewing the play for the first time. Regardless of your knowledge about Shakespeare, I believe you will enjoy this season’s 70’s take on “The Twelfth Night.”
So what might become of the love triangle Viola (Laura Dunham) got herself into? Whose heart belongs to whom? That is for you to come and watch for. Come join Yuba College’s unique group of actors/actresses and enjoy a timeless classic with our cast in their bell bottoms, tie dyes, wigs and other pieces, along with plenty of humor. You don’t want to miss it! Opening night is October 5th, 2012 at 6:30 in our schools theater.

Why I am writing this now?? ok, Alexis Here. 23 years old, I’ve died and came back a few too many times (not kidding). I’m a full-time student, mother of 4, and constantly keeping busy, not that i’m not already busy. I do take awhile to warm up to people, but once i get to know you i either like you or i dont and i am either nice or not! Besides that though i love photography and the arts around us and would love to make others like yourself more aware of the creativity that surrounds us.
