ASYC elections coming up

March 7, 2003 Staff Leave a Comment

Students wishing to participate in student government will soon get their chance, as Yuba College will hold Student Council elections in March and April. The deadlines, though, are fast approaching, so students wanting to make a difference in Yuba College should get their applications in as soon as possible.

The nominations and petitions must be handed in between March 10 and 14. Students should pick up Petition Packets from the Campus Life office in Osuna Hall or the Information desk in the 100 building. Packets must be completed and returned to the Vice President of Student Services in the 300 building by Friday, March 14 at 3 p.m.

The students wishing to run for office will be checked for eligibility the following week. Information from the packets will be verified during this time, and the Campus Life office will prepare the official list of candidates. The official lists will be posted on all bulletin boards on the Marysville Campus, the Campus Life office and the Cafeteria.

Nominees can officially campaign for office between March 31 and April 4. The actual elections will be held between April 7 and 11, with election results available on April 14. A valid identification card is needed to vote. The location of the election will be announced at a later date.
