The Associated Students of Yuba College had no meeting on Thursday, April 28, due to the scheduled “Spring Slam II,” which in turn had to be rescheduled due to unsavory looking weather.
“Spring Slam II” was to be a continuation of last year’s “Spring Slam,” featuring local bands on campus. The spring event, including the concert, was rescheduled for May 10 during the noon hour at the campus outdoor amphitheater, located in fount of the library.
On April 21, the ASYC held an informal meeting to discuss and plan the upcoming commencement breakfast being held May 20.
On April 14, the student council members discussed the incoming members, saying that since there were no opponents for any position, the candidates who did sign up automatically became officers. The ASYC voiced opinions about the low participation, considering how earlier in the semester students criticized the council for not doing anything on campus.
The ASYC is saying farewell to Business Director Amy Waldorff and President Andrea Black as they leave Yuba College to pursue higher educational goals.
