ASYC Thanksgiving Drive-through Food Drive

November 14, 2020 Meloni Mitchell Leave a Comment

Monday, November 16, 2020: 9:00am-11:00am and Tuesday, November 17, 2020: 2:00pm- 4:00pm the ASYC and Dusty’s Pantry will be working together to hold a Thanksgiving food drive for Yuba College students. They will be looking for donations from our students and community so that we can help someone else have a happy Thanksgiving. It will be an anything BUT turkey food drive. The drop off location will be by the 300 breezeway off of Sutter Street. This will be a socially distanced drive-through event so please wear facial covering when you drop off your donations. All of these donations will be apart of Dusty’s Pantry Thanksgiving boxes!

They are asking specifically for

Instant Mashed Potatoes

Canned Sweet Potatoes

Canned Green Beans

Canned of Mushroom Soup

Starting 11/23/20 these boxes will be distributed to Yuba College students on a first come first served basis.

Right now we are all struggling through these difficult times, not being able to go out and worrying about the future, but lets think about all we have to be thankful for right now. This is the first Thanksgiving I wont be spending with my grandparents but, I am thankful that my family will get to video call them during the holiday. What is something you are thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Hi, I’m Meloni Mitchell, I am the President of the Journalism Club and one of the two editors for our paper. This is my forth semester at Yuba College, but I have had a love for writing since the sixth grade.  I enjoy writing anything from essays and articles to poetry and short stories, and I really enjoy editing all forms of writing. However, my favorite form of writing would be poetry.
