At the April 15 meeting of the ASYC, all officers were in attendance.
The cabinet discussed the Spring Slam, an event that will feature student bands and entertainment some time in May. The council wished to see the Hawaiian dancers; however, the deadline for sign up had passed. A guest speaker for that group was scheduled but did not show up. Council members will hold a special meeting April 20 to plan the event in more detail.
The members also considered the possibility of sponsoring a Somosa Sale proposed by the Sikh Student Association Club. The student club sought to fund the project at a local Sikh temple. The representatives of the club asked the ASYC officers if they could sponsor them for the sale, as had other local organizations. The proposal made to the ASYC is still under debate and was left until further information on the subject was given.
The ASYC announced that the Yuba Community College District hired a new webmaster. The ASYC council members expressed hope that ASYC information will be updated soon. Currently only outdated information about the ASYC can be found on their site http://www.yccd.edu/student_services/ASYC/
