Bear Valley – A Hidden Den of Comfort

October 8, 2008 lhill Leave a Comment

In secluded Bear Valley, the trees stay green during even the driest of summers. Offering a cool respite for travelers, the choices of scenery here range from high mountain peaks to lush valleys, making this a great vacation spot for even the pickiest of adventurers.

On an average day in Bear Valley, you could find yourself lost amongst the trees, on top of some of the highest peaks our Sierras have to offer, Trout and Bass fishing in one of several lakes, or even on a rock face hundreds of feet from the ground rock-climbing with hundreds more feet to go. Hiking on some of the best trails in California, whether on foot or horseback, or Sitting by the fire-pit, reading a book and cooking the day’s catch for dinner, or spending a romantic night with your significant other, Bear Valley is the perfect place for it all.

With all the stress of our lives, Bear Valley offers an escape from life that we need. You can use a campground if you would like, or go to White Rock Lake and stick up a tent in the trees, just come prepared to relax your soul and tickle your fancy however you would like to.

Bear valley is approximately 45 miles North of Truckee, CA. off of I-80 exit 188-a and then north on Highway 89 for about 35 minutes, depending on traffic, and then a left on Henness Rd. and all you do after that is follow the road to your lake of choice.
