Students and faculty gathered on February 12 for Yuba College’s Club Day in front of the cafeteria. Though initially worried about the turn out, the Associated Students of Yuba College didn’t have to worry. Many clubs participated, including Christians In Action, Mass Communications Club, ASYC and the Foreign Language Club. Students gained information from various clubs and organizations.
The ASYC sold Valentine’s Day goodies and punch. Other organizations baked goods that were provided to students that visited each booth. Christian rap artist Brother Marcus E. performed three songs from his upcoming CD, as a part of the Christians In Action presentation. The Mass Communication Club provided students with pamphlets about the department and had on display a vintage 35mm film camera and a modern digital camera to emphasize the evolution of filmmaking.
The event was an opportunity for students to showcase the various extracurricular activities available to students on campus. According to Andria Black of the ASYC, the turnout was “great and the students bought everything we had for sale.”
The ASYC now looks forward to its St. Patrick’s Day sale on March 16 with high hopes of selling many St. Patrick’s Day treats and Pinch Protectors.
