At a ceremony held in the Flavors Cafe Friday afternoon President of Yuba College, Dr. Kay Adkins, honored faculty and staff that have served for over 20 years.
President Adkins said that Anita Wilks had “worked her way up to personnel records assistant and she was the face and voice of the College as the College Information Receptionist for several years, Anita is one of those people that you can give a job to and you know it will be taken care of in a timely manner” After introducing her daughter Shelby, Anita Wilks Said that “Its been a pleasure to work here” and graciously thanked all the people she had worked withfor 20 years at Yuba College. Other 20 year Yuba College honorees are Tony Jow of the CSC, Jeanie Lee and Alan Miller who is retiring this year. Desiree Moore English professor graduated with a masters at Humboldt State, taught at Nevada Union High School,The university of Pacific and at Yuba College for 25 years.
Professor Moore Thanked everyone and praised Yuba College, “We have got the best English department we have had since I have been here”.She said. Food served by Flavors was excellent and the entertainment was provided by the Yuba College Choir.
