The College Success Center is a free resource available to all students. It provides tutors for various subjects in a user friendly environment. The center is in the library in the 1100 building and is open Monday-Thursday: 8am- 5pm and Friday: 8am- 4:30pm.
“Students who take advantage of the program receive an extraordinarily high quality of services at no cost, with very high success rate statistics for participants,” says Tony Law, third year Instructional Associate who has been with our school district for twenty-one years.
To become a part of this program, students must fill out a Request For Services form and the center will try to match up student availability with tutor availability. However, students are REQUIRED to participate in at least two, fifty minute sessions a week.
The success rate for students that attend fifteen or more sessions is significantly higher than that of student’s who wait until they encounter a problem in a class before signing up for tutors. Students should seek help sooner than later to ensure success.
The tutors, whether volunteering or being paid, all share a common goal of making the STUDENTS the priority, in fact most tutors are registered students at Yuba College.
