Yuba College is sponsoring their 6th Annual Math Poetry Contest. Any student interested in participating must submit two copies of an original poem that incorporates math themes, terms, or references. A prize is offered for the first place entry and First, Second, and Third places are awarded certificates.
Poems must be original, written by the person submitting it, and typed in suitable format, preferably on a clean, unfolded piece of paper with your contact info on the back. You can either drop them in the marked drop box at the circulation desk in the Yuba College Library if it is convenient for you to do so. Woodland, Colusa, Clear Lake and Beale students may send their poems to Dr. John Thoo at Yuba College: 2088 N. Beale Road, Marysville, CA 95901.
Pay attention to your teachers; some offer extra credit for participating. Language + Math = Rewards so get your submissions in! Due by Thursday, March 17, 2011.
