It is almost that time again for students to fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the academic year of 2012-2013. The FAFSA should be filled out sometime in January, but no later than June 30th 2012. The sooner it gets done, the sooner it’ll get approve, which also means that the money will get disburse to you first because disbursements are according to award dates.
Students should also file Cal Grants by March 2nd to maximize individual opportunity to receive an award.
Make sure to fill out the Board of Governor’s Fee Waiver before registration because of the new 10 Days to Pay policy. The new policy will drop students for non-payment after 10 days of registering for classes.
If you need help or have questions, please visit the financial aid office Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can also visit them at yc.yccd.edu/students/financial-aid.aspx.
