Three former Yuba College track and field athletes have excelled this season. Byron Talley who is on scholarship at UC Davis recently broke the school record for the 55-meter high hurdles with a time of 7.67 seconds at a meet in Reno during the indoor season. Talle broke the previous record of 7.78. Talley is the record holder at Yuba for the most points scored during a decathlon. Talle also had a pole vault of 14 feet, 7 inches and had to withdraw from the competition because he needed a bigger pole. He is using his redshirt for the outdoor season and will compete in the decathlon next year. Jimmithee Banks is competing unattached after completing his scholarship stint at Sacramento State University. Banks won the Bruce Drummond Invitational with a long jump of 25 feet. David Moreno is on scholarship at Texas A & M, Kingville and won his first race of the season in the 400 hurdles in a time of 54.67 seconds.
