High hopes

March 10, 2006 Staff Leave a Comment

Every weekday at two o’clock the track and field team along with many other fitness hopefuls meet out on the Yuba College track.to practice.

They start by stretching and doing warm ups. Once they get their blood flowing the team gets in a line to do a series of running exercises that may seem silly to onlookers, but these people are getting fit and having fun doing it.

In between his stretching, Yuba College athlete Brian Nelson said, “Track is fun. Everyone should run track.”

Coach Todd Anderson is very enthusiastic about students coming out and exercising with them. He said that the team would be very happy if students joined the track and field team but that they warmly welcome anyone who would like to come and work out with them.

Anderson also said that even if people cannot come every day, he would encourage them to come when they can. The team members all say that practice is a lot more fun when there are more people.

So come work out with, or join, the Yuba College Track and Field team. Not only will you get physically fit, you can meet fun and energetic people, and maybe even learn a new sport like javelin throwing.
