Interaction on Campus

October 7, 2006 Staff Leave a Comment

Many Student around campus are looking to interact with other students, but don’t know how to get involved around campus.Joining a club on campus has many benefits. People who join clubs get to interact with their peers and get to know people who have the similar interest. Some people have never been in a club, so it is a great way to try something different and experience new events.

On the Yuba College Campus, there are various clubs and programs to choose from. For example, there is MESA. Thirty-six colleges have MESA. MESA stands for Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement. It is a program that offers tutoring, a study center, field trips to Universities and industries, leadership development opportunities, scholarships, and internship opportunities. MESA meets the 1st Tuesday of the month in room 702 at noon.

Some students on campus have already checked out the list of clubs. One of those students is Rosa Gonzales, who was in the MECHA Club in high school. She says, “Getting into a club is something I would like to do again.” The only way to know if you would enjoy getting involved in a club is to check it out.

Are you creative and are able to understand the technical perspective of writing and media production? If so, then the Mass Communications program is for you! The program prepares students for an entry-level career in audio recording and sound production, journalism, radio and television broadcasting, independent videography, non-linear editing and provides some entry level techniques in cinematography. It offers hands on experience working on projects while students earn money. The Mass Communications program also prepares students to transfer to a four-year institution or University.

If you have any interest in joining a club, contact Elizabeth Bowman, the Campus Life Coordinator, located in the 300 building.
