Michael Defranco speaks up about being a student at Yuba College and feeling the affects of the rubber stamping of administration.
“I have felt the affects of administration. They rubber stamp “YES’ for everything chancellor Harrington wants.” Michael Defranco spoke about how it feels to be a student at Yuba College at the candidate forum held at Yuba College October 21, 2010.
He went on to talk about how not having the classes that are needed is making the education process at Yuba College a longer one. “Time some students don’t have,” he said. Defranco explained that he will do all that he can and personally go out and seek the financial backing the college needs, even if he has to go to the capital. He said with determination, “I will fight like a pitbull for you.”
The student-written question that Defranco pulled from the hat was, “What is a specific area you would like to see change here at Yuba College?” Defranco answered, “I think most importantly that Yuba College needs an unhostile administration.” In closing Defranco referenced the 80’s song by Twisted Sister, “We’re not going to take it anymore.”
