The Psychology Club of Yuba College is on a mission and that mission is beautification. For the last several months the club has been focused on making the Sutter Center Campus (SCC) a more enjoyable and positive place to spend time. Psych club reps say the idea is to improve morale by making campus a more pleasant place to spend time.

The club recently received official permission to start selling plaques to fund a mural at SCC.

The mural will depict a colorful uplifting scene of hot air balloons with an inspirational quote from Eleanor Roosevelt.

According to an email forwarded to me by club member Nyati Cleveland, Professor Lisa Jensen Martin has already sold several. When asked the last day they will be selling plaques Cleveland responded, “Soon, we want to get the project started as soon as possible.”

Members have reached out to local businesses, such as Recology and even our own President G.H. Javaheripour.

The club is trying to get the funds together as soon as possible so if you want to contribute to the mural and have your plaque inserted into the wall contact Professor Lisa Jensen-Martin by email at ljensen@yccd.edu.
