Travelling pro-life demonstrators stated that abortion is a violent act that kills an unborn child and that this pro-life group has experienced aggravation during the course of their itinerary regarding establishments of higher education. These demonstrators, during the hours of 9:00 AM through 2:00 PM at Yuba Community College on April 6th and April 7th, took questions from students, showed banners depicting abortions in process, and offered handouts that postulated anti-abortion view points to those who passed by. The aforementioned demonstrators, for reasons of safety, declined to give their last names, but they clearly stated their position.”This is an educational effort to help the students have a clear understanding that an abortion is an act of violence”, said Bud, a demonstrator affiliated with SOHLNET (Sanctity Of Human Life Network). The images on the banners, obtained from the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, allowed students and campus travelers to take a close look at abortions. The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform is a non-profit corporation established in July of 1990 that works to establish prenatal justice and the right to life for the unborn, the disabled, the infirm, the aged and all vulnerable peoples through education and the development of cutting edge-educational resources (source:http://abortionno.org). The above demonstrators, according to Bud, travel to seven colleges in the Spring and seven colleges in the Fall. Bud cited the Sacramento City College controversy of last year as an example of how some Colleges and faculty members, because of their viewpoints concerning abortion, will attempt to nullify free speech with regards to this issue (Steve Macias, then-Associated Student Government President of Sac City College, was illegally recalled because of his allowing a pro-life exhibit to take place on campus, according to http://finaltrump.com). Don, a demonstrator affiliated with the Truth Project, stated that the abortion exhibits being shown at Yuba allowed people to view “pro-life vs. pro-choice”, and he added that Yuba College is one of the last colleges that his group tours. These demonstrations, according to Bud, go beyond any mere routine, and the handouts that were offered by the demonstrators contained Christian information in addition to the promulgation of anti-abortion. “This is a ministry”, said Bud.
