Associated Students of Yuba College (ASYC) is the student government on campus. The Officers and Senators are elected by the student body in elections held during the Spring Semester each academic year.
The primary purpose of the ASYC is to represent the student body and relay their concerns to the College Administration. The ASYC also plan activities for the students and conduct various fund raising events to finance these activities. One of the ways that they use to raise funds for these activities, is to operate the campus vending machines.
The current officers include: Pres. Kyle Martin, Vice Pres. Damon Allen, Secretary Sarah Crawford-Valencia, and Communications Director Mariah Tafoya-Perry, neice of YCCD Trustee Board member Xavier Tafoya, from Yolo County. The position of Treasurer/Business Director is currently vacant.
In addition to the officers, there are 8 Senators elected at large. Dennis Wilson serves as a Senator and the other 7 Senator positions were vacant, at the time of this interview.
