The Associated Students of Yuba College had their first meeting of the Spring 2005 semester Thursday, January 28.
They discussed several activities. Among them for which they are planning a Tsunami Relief drive. The drive involves the art department, where the Photography and Ceramic classes will sell their wares on e-bay, having all winnings go to the relief fund.
Another activity that is in the works is a proposed “March Madness” basketball tournament. The tournament, which is open to students from Yuba College, is still in the works.
The one activity that is first on the ASYC schedule is the Valentine’s Day sale, which is proposed for Valentine’s Day. The ASYC will be selling Valentine goodies, and last minute Valentines for that special someone.
The ASYC is also planning a ‘Battle of the Bands,” but instead of having many bands play, the committee is looking into hiring one band to play during the lunch hour.
Other activities planed for this semester include a Sprit Walk, Club Day, Rummage Sale, and Yuba College Fair.
The Prospector will bring you current up dates of these activities.
