Sarb Basrai speaks at the candidate forum about working together to build coalitions.
“It is easy to point fingers and it is easy to say I would do better, “Sarb Basrai said in his opening statement at the forum.
He believes that the support of the community is vital. “Individuals don’t have the power to do it alone. We have to build a coalition.” He believes that everyone running will bring something good to the table. He said, “I think we need to work hard in a direction where morale is preserved.”
The question which was asked of Basrai is, “What do you believe the most pressing issue is here at Yuba College?” Basrai responded, “It seems that we may have failed in communication. We seem to be pulling in different directions. We can’t solve issues without pulling in the same direction.”
Basrai believes that programs and vocational skills that students can make a living off of are items that need to be focused on.
In closing he stated that a good leader doesn’t micromanage and has to be accountable. Basrai is a graduate of Yuba college and it gave him his head start he said.
