As the next step in the process to find a replacement for Chancellor Harrington, the Board of Trustees will be meeting in a Special Session at the Yuba College campus from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23.
The meeting has been called so the Chancellor and the consultant, Dr. Narcisa Polonio of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), can present the Board with an update on the “Search Process” and the results of the meetings which will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday morning at the various campus locations, except Colusa.
According to the attached e-mail, the YCCD website “has been populated with all the information to date, including the search process, time line, search committee make-up, Progress Report #1, announcement of forums, etc.”
The website, http://www.yccd.edu/chancellorsearch/index.html , shows that the forums to be held are:
“Campus forums to develop a Chancellor Profile will be held as follows: Tuesday, February 22, 2011 Woodland Community College: 4:00 p.m. – 5::00 p.m., Building 800, Community Room Wednesday, February 23, 2011 Clear Lake Campus: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., Classroom 904 Yuba College: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Yuba College Theater“
According to Dr. Polonio, the time line for the Chancellor Search Process is, by design, “aggressive and expedited”.
Therefore, any interested persons desiring to provide input, opinions, ideas, and information for the Search Committee to consider, as they fulfill their assigned duties, is encouraged to be at one, or more, of these forums to present such to the Committee representative(s) present.
The e-mail states, “The Special Board Meeting will of course be properly noticed as usual.” This, according to Dr. Adrian Lopez, will be “at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start of the meeting”, i.e. 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
