The Yuba College speech team placed as the third best community college team in Northern California at its first tournament of the semester at Chabot College. The team competed against thirteen different colleges and universities, taking home eight medals on the weekend of January 26.
Ellie Michel took first place for informative speaking and second place for persuasive speaking. Devin Black received first place for drama interpretation, first place for poetry interpretation, second place for prose interpretation and third place for oral interpretation of literature. John Henke took first place for oral interpretation of literature.
