Spencer gave a surprising opening statement when he presented George Chesso with a check from the CESA. He stated that he was sad about Chesso’s scholarship being revoked on October 13, 2010. “I know that you work very hard and struggle to make ends meet,” Spencer said tearfully as he handed him the check.
If Spencer was chosen he would vote “No” on more spending going to administration. He is concerned that one third of the faculty are not being replaced when faculty retire this year. Spencer said, “I would put back classes, put back faculty, and put back classified staff. This is where I will put all of my efforts.”
In closing Spencer stated that he has spent 22 ½ years at Yuba College, served on the budget sub committee, and been on counsel as a negotiator. “I know what is going on.”
