Stuller finishes eighth at state

May 16, 2003 Staff Leave a Comment

Zack Stuller’s amazing run to the state meet came to an end with an eighth place finish in the 1,500 meter run at Chabot College. He finished in four minutes, 2.02 seconds.

Stuller, who has been the most consistent 49ers runner throughout the year, qualified for the state meet after finishing fourth at the Northern California Finals in Modesto. Stuller will not be returning to the 49ers track team next year because of graduation, which will be a major blow to the men’s team. The team will, however, have other runners coming back that will contribute to the team just as much as Stuller did this year. Coach Bob Miller’s biggest concern still remains for the women’s team. The women’s team only featured one competitor this year, and coach Miller wants to have at least 20 women runners on the team next year.
