Northern California offers a great number of music venues, so don’t give yourself an excuse in checking out one of the hottest spots in the Sacramento area. JB’s Lounge is a club that showcases many of the best musical talents every Sunday from 5pm to 8. Located inside the Red Lion Hotel next to the Arden Fair Mall, it was created in 2003 by Sacramento’s own recording artist Vivian Lee to promote the likes of Jazz music with many local and regional talents. That’s less than an hour drive for anyone living in the Greater Sacramento area.
So what is JB’s Lounge all about? Their goal is to create a live entertainment experience that welcomes just about anyone who wants to enjoy a good time. It is the place to be, whether you’re just looking to discover some music, or if you’re in need of a place to take that date of yours to, or even perhaps you just want to sit down with some business clients over the sounds of smooth Jazz. Even children are permitted into the place, granted they’re well-behaved. Oh, and did I mention that they have a full bar? There’s even a fairly priced dinner menu. Doesn’t that already sound like the perfect place to spend an evening?
Now for those who have taken Dr. Miller’s class at Yuba Community College, you may be familiar with the place. After all, it is one the places that he highly recommends you going to as a requirement for his class. Some of you may know what I’m talking about. “It is the place most favorable by students,” says Dr. Miller. And it’s not just his former students that frequent there every week. Many of the artists often go back to perform more shows, and they are some of the most down-to-Earth people out there. Why? Because during intermissions you’ll get a chance to talk to them, shake hands, and let them know just how much you’re enjoying the show. How often do you get to go backstage at some rock concert and get to hang out with the bands?
Maybe you’ve never really listened to Jazz before. Even if you’re not a fan of it, it’s not too late to start checking it out. Familiarize yourself with the genre and maybe you’ll even come to love it as much as many others before you have. So take a night off for Jazz. Put on your classiest outfit, lace up those dance shoes, and head on over to experience a night you’ll never want to forget. Check out www.reverbnation.com/venue/jbssundayjazz for more information.

I just ran up on this post while perusing safari on my phone. Thank you so much for such a thorough and thoughtful reflection on what we do at JB’s Lounge. This is alabor of love for me, my philanthropy to the jazz community. You really told your readers what we are about. If you don’t mind I’d like to either send out a link to your story or copy and paste it into one of the emails I send out to our jazz patrons.
Thanks again
