On November 7 the team played their last home game of the season against Mendocino winning 3-0. Winning has become so ordinary for the team that the excitement was lacking on the field that day. The first half started of with a goal by Kami Kapaku yet after that goal and until the second half most of the ball handling was done by the opposing team.
The defense for Yuba College, being as stellar as it is, kept the game at mid-field as the game lulled on throughout the first half with nearly no goal attempts for either side. After a stern talk by the coach at half time the team played with the intensity that had won them the season.
Surprisingly, Mendocino put up a decent fight trying to match Yuba’s attacks. Amber Shepherd for Mendocino had 6 saves and the aggressiveness shown by the defenders was apparent having penalty after penalty called on them for tackling. Defense for the opposing side held their own but there was no stopping Kapaku. She scored two more goals by the end of the game sealing the fate of the match.
