The Transvestites from Transsexual Transylvania arrived once again from the far reaches of space. They were last seen almost a year ago, 358 days to be exact, and just like last time they came with a group of people eagerly waiting to be part of the The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
A cult classic since the mid 70’s,The Rocky Horror Picture Show, starring Tim Curry In his most provocative role played by anyone in that era, Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Even today the film remains scandalous, several people were repulsed by Tim Curry in his outrageous get-up, which by the way he does look very good in. I am sure the people who heckled his outfit are just jealous because they could never pull off the look like Curry did. However hecklers at the showing did provide some laughs after several participants commented back on their behavior.
During the film, people in the crowd were very involved in the movie, some dressing up like Transvestites and others sang along with the film and, unlike the last time, people didn’t want to Time Warp (a dance performed in the movie. This is not understandable because it is the signature song of the whole movie, that is why people dress up and dance. The dance is simple and easy, when called to do so all one must do is jump to the left, and then a step to the right, placing one’s hands on their hips, and then by performing the pelvic thrust one achieves the mightiest of all dances, the Time Warp!
According to the ASYC, attendance was higher this time than the other two movie events from last year, especially the second showing of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. If anything the ASYC should research what movies are hot and are cult classics. Repo: The Genetic Opera should be one of the next films. Repo: The Genetic Opera is a film that is becoming a cult classic that everyone can enjoy. Although after the ticket problems that occurred ASYC might be seeing a less of people during the next showing, yet I am sure that the ASYC will figure something out that will bring back their audience. They will prevail, they are, as Dr. Frank-N-Furter says “a wild and untamed thing [they are] bee with and deadly sting, [they] get hit and your mind goes ping… so let the party and the sound rock on [they’re] gonna shake it ‘till life has gone” and hopefully a larger crowd comes next time.
