Are you creative? Do you need an outlet? Would you like to know yourself better? Do you like to watch progress made? If so, next semester consider taking classes from the art department. Some of the classes offered are drawing, painting, sculpting, creative materials and photography.
According to Professor Glenn Husted expressing yourself through art gives you an opportunity to learn more about who you are, what you have to offer and what you can do. Husted who has been teaching art at Yuba College for twelve years is teaching painting and ceramics this semester.
The students in his ceramic class range from beginning to the advanced. Students learn a variety of techniques, from beginning hand built ceramic items, wheel thrown pottery and the advanced students pick projects involving structure and functionality.
One of his students Llani Corona said “took a painting class and loved it and always wanted to experience pottery as well. ” She added “really liked him as a teacher, so that’s a plus. “
In December students will be exhibiting their works of art at the Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council gallery in Marysville.
