The summer time window is closing fast, but the music doesn’t stop at the front door. Concert season is at full force, even with the leaves changing color and the evenings becoming just a bit chilly. Big names, such as 50 Cent to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to Coldplay, have already come through the region this summer.
The fall season kicks off full force in the mid-valley with major names coming to perform. For those looking to get out and enjoy the sound, here is what to look forward to:
The two major venues in the Sacramento region will be filled with plenty of acts this fall. The closest venue, Sleep Train Amphitheater, will have far fewer performers due to it being an outside concert setting.
Sleep Train Amphitheater will be hosting the classic rock band Journey on September 30. Then on October 28 it will see the contemporary country band Rascal Flats.
Heading towards Sacramento at the Arco Arena, which is indoors so it has plenty of higher-end entertainers booked this season, you can catch the punk rock band Green Day on September 30.
On October 19, the classic rock band Eagles will be at Arco, followed by the contemporary popular artist Gwen Stefani on October 23.
Heading southwest to the Bay Area region, there are three major venues to take note of in the coming months ahead: The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, Shoreline Amphitheater, and SBC Park.
The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium is medium-sized and indoors, located in the special events district in San Francisco.
The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium will be hosting the alternative band Audioslave on September 25.
SBC Park, more known for being the home of the San Francisco Giants, is an outdoor stadium and will be hosting classic rock band, the Rolling Stones on November 13.
The Shoreline Amphitheater is in Mountain View, which is located near San Jose. Shoreline Amphitheater is an outdoor venue, which will be hosting the contemporary popular band The Killers October 8.
