Wives’ tales exposed

April 13, 2007 Chris Bennett Leave a Comment

Growing up in an age full of technology, you would almost have to wonder why we still have so many out-of-date superstitious ideas regarding reality. To expose all fictitious notions circulating around the world today would simply be impossible.

However, making a short list of inaccuracies seems a little more feasible considering the circumstances. We have taken the liberty to research and unveil some of these in a list with the hope of burying them.

1.) False- Putting hot water in your ice trays allows for the water to freeze faster.

2.) False- Alcohol helps you keep warm in the cold.

3.) False- Chocolate causes acne.

4.) False- Eating right before swimming causes cramps.

5.) False- Habitual knuckle-cracking causes arthritis.

6.) False- Eating spinach gives you big muscles.

7.) False- If you don’t eat meat, you won’t get enough protein.

8.) False- Stress and spicy foods cause ulcers.

9.) False- Masturbation will cause blindness.

10.) False-Coffee stunts your growth.

So next time Granny hits you up with some of this gibberish, you can wallop her with this school newspaper. No more will these ten deceptions threaten your daily activities. So do yourself a favor and always double-check geriatric opinion. It could lead to a better life.
