The Yuba College women’s team concluded its season with a 13-18 overall record and a 4-8 conference record. The conference record is good for fifth place in the Bay Valley Conference, with San Joaquin Delta at the top of the conference with an 11-1 record. In the third spot is Sierra College at 10-2. The 49ers posted their fourth and last conference win on the last day of the season on February 21 against Napa Valley, 90-80. Erica Short was the leading scorer for the 49ers with 23 points, while Erin Cunningham scored 19 points and handed out six assists. Others scoring for the 49ers were Sarah Webster and Crystal Haymore – both finished with 13 points. Webster had 11 rebounds while Liz Mabray snatched nine boards. The 49ers led at halftime by two points, 39-37, but outscored Napa Valley by eight points in the second half. The 49ers qualified for the playoffs and will be playing Foothill of Los Altos. The 49ers are seeded No. 24, while Foothill is seeded ninth. The game will be at Foothill’s gym on Friday at 7 p.m. Before the seedings were announced, Yuba coach Dave Parsh said his team would most likely get the No. 25 seeding.
