Wright makes it to state

May 10, 2004 Staff Leave a Comment

Yuba College’s Lawrence Wright qualified for the State meet in Bakersfield with his outstanding performance in his triple jump event at the Nor Cal Finals at Modesto Junior College last Saturday.

With a jump of 45 feet, 8 inches, Wright placed third in the finals of the event. The winner of the high jump came from American River with a jump of 46 feet, 2 inches. The top four of each event qualified to move on to State.

Wright also competed in the high jump, but did not qualify with his jump of 6 ft, 2 inches.

With his advancement to the State meet, Wright fulfilled the predictions his coaches made at the beginning of the season.

Wright will compete at State on May 15.
