After starting the season an impressive 3-0, Yuba College has dropped their last two games to tough opponents in College of the Siskyous (0-0), and 7th ranked American River College (0-0), and walks into tomorrow’s league opening game against Shasta College with a record of 3-2, good for second in the Bay Valley Conference behind Contra Costa College.
All of their upcoming league games hold great importance towards heading for a bowl game, and for three of their league matches, revenge looks to be in store. Shasta beat the Niners 39-20 in a shootout last season, while Yuba also found themselves on the losing end of games against Solano College and Contra Costa, where the Niners will end their season on the road in what may possibly be the pivotal game and conference championship.
All of that, however, begins with Shasta tomorrow afternoon, scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time at home. Last season the Niners were held to only seven yards rushing to Shasta’s 272, and didn’t score in the second half in the loss, and will most certainly be looking to turn not just their shaky season around, but kickstart league play off on the right foot.
