On October 15, the annual Yuba Community College Harvest Festival took place at the Campus Center Patio. Clubs that set up shop at the event sold cookies, cupcakes, tamales, “Cookie Lee” watches, knitted fabrics, pies donated from “Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm” and many other goods. Some of the groups and vendors who were in attendance included: “Knitting By Jackie”, Black Student Union, the Rotaract Club, Christians In Action, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, M.E.Ch.A. (Chicano Student Movement), “Cookie Lee”, Associated Students of Yuba College, and Veterinary Technician Program. Several of these clubs sought to bring about a sense of awareness to students concerning various issues. Frankie Sanchez, an officer of Christians in Action, stated that his club “Wished to share the love of God with whomever cared to come near.” Many students and faculty members attended the Harvest Festival and were enthusiastic about the events and goods offered”I think it was a great show for students”, said Campus Life coordinator Liz Bowman,”I think it was a very good turnout”.
