The death of a Yuba College student has left authorities with little evidence to go on as to the cause. Nicole Cunningham was found dead at her Linda home on Sunday morning, November 9.
Since the tragedy, Yuba County Sheriff’s Department has received calls from Cunningham’s friends and family members, as well as Yuba College Campus Police, reporting that the young woman had voiced concern for her own safety in the days previous to her death.
Contrary to rumors swirling around campus that foul play was a factor, results of a full body exam indicated no sign of trauma or bodily injury, according to Yuba County Sheriff-Coroner Melanie Oaks. Likewise, no evidence of violence was found at the scene of her death. Toxicology reports are pending and will hopefully yield clues to her cause of death.Oaks encouraged anyone with information about Cunningham’s situation to come forward as soon as possible, though ideally information about a person’s safety should be brought forward while law enforcement can still intervene.
