Yuba Drops BVC Game

February 9, 2005 Staff Leave a Comment

The Yuba College Men’s basketball team headed south on Tuesday night to face the Sacramento City Panthers (12-9, 6-3) in a Bay Valley Conference game. The 49ers (13-9, 7-2), who were unable to hold an early lead half-time lead, 41-39, lost to the Panthers, 79-73.

Tuesday night’s game was a much different tail from the two team’s previous match-up in the Shasta Tournament on November 21st. Both went head-to-head putting on a dazzling performance, which led to a high scoring game. Yuba defeated Sacramento, 103-94.

Yuba College Sophomore Zach Andrews was not able to produce his season high average in points. Andrews who is averaging almost 15 points per a game, was held to only 12 on Tuesday night.

Sophomore Jon Sheets had a team high 13 points and Solomon Mercado added 12.
