The Yuba Sutter Regional Arts Council will be exhibiting the work of the art students of Yuba College December 3rd through December 15th. The showing will be held at the gallery located at 624 E Street in Marysville. The exhibits are free and open to the public.
The Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council was founded over 25 years ago to encourage an appreciation of the arts. They work with schools, artists, studios and children in arts education programs. Every month they exhibit in their gallery the work of local artists. Recently it was Megan Luis and Liz Williams exhibit entitled, “Bits and Blinders”.; their work mainly features draft horses. Currently showing is Brian Shul’s photography exhibit “From Butterflies to Blackbirds” which runs through September 23rd. Although Mr. Shul is known for his photographs of the SR-71, this exhibit focuses on his photographs of nature. If you are interested in exhibiting your work, contact the Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council for an application.
Besides the visual arts, the Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council is also about the performance arts which are at the Lee Burrows Performance Center which host musicians, lecturers, dance performances, poetry and readings. In November performing at the center is The Borgamaria Lyric Opera Company. They will be doing a compilation of opera scenes.
