Yuba Volleyball Scores Low, Spirits High

September 22, 2004 Staff Leave a Comment

Yuba College Women’s volleyball team lost to Chabot College on Wednesday, September 5. Though all three games were close (30-16, 30-24, 30-27), Yuba wasn’t strong enough offensively to over power Chabot.

Freshman Ashley DeMello had a team high eleven kills, while captain Krystal Gualco added eight. Freshman setter Rachel Norton finished with twenty-seven assists, and Deanna Straolzini was 22 for 23 from the service line. Since this was not only one of first competitions of the season, but also a non-conference match, the team’s spirits are still high.

Their next trip is to Santa Ana for the Santa Ana Tournament on Saturday, September 18.
